Inviolable to Hands, Adorned to the Nose

Fragrances: Forvr Mood Hard to Get (Fruity Floral)
Today I’m doing a wear test of Forvr Mood's Hard to Get (this is an affiliate link; I earn a commission if you purchase). This perfume has become another summer favorite on social media. I reviewed a sample of this when I reviewed the Forvr Mood Discovery Kit, but this time I'm writing up a full 8-hour wear test review.
** Please read What is Anosmia? How do I live with it? to get a full understanding of the concept of this blog and how I go about "smelling" as an anosmic.
[How I choose which perfumes to layer:
I look up all of the notes of each fragrance on Fragrantica.com. From there, as you can see below, I write them on a sticky note and place them on my wall. Since my nose can't pick up every note, and I'm not able to distinguish notes and scents by what they truly are (as you read along, you'll understand; I describe what I can smell by things I have either tasted or what I can picture in my mind), this helps.]

(I spray my perfumes in these areas: inside of my forearm, the back of my knees, the sides and back of my neck, and then on my clothes)
Initial Spray:
A lemon vanilla cloud of love fills the air immediately. The citrus and the vanilla notes are blended so well together in this fragrance. Neither overrides the other when spraying. The lemon blossom/citrus scent is actually very balanced in this fragrance as well; it does last long with this one. You smell like lemony sugary goodness. The wild freesias and jasmine notes add a gentle yet brightening feminine vibe to the fragrance.
It's not overly sweet to the point where you smell playful or young, but you actually smell mature; not old, but a grown woman in the middle of Spring. Think of attending a fancy tea party of guests wearing fancy gloves, high heels, and small cucumber sandwiches on a three-tier refreshment stand. That's the floral feminine aspect. The lemon blossom and whipped vanilla give the vibe of a glass party fountain, and the drink of choice is a lemon drop. A vibrant, refreshing drink with a sweet sugar rim. In this case, YOU are the lemon drop fountain.
This is a very classy and very bougie spring/summer perfume. It's giving proximity to me is indeed a privilege. Look with your nose, but not with your hands.
1-2 Hours:
For the first two hours, there is a bright, soft, floral-sweet-citrus feel in the nose. The powdery accords act as a nice, soft pillow for the other notes to lay on top of. No note or accord overpowers the other, so you get the chance to smell each note all at once in a beautiful blend. You can also smell each note separately as well. The floral notes really make this fragrance bright and graceful. It's also a very elevated floral citrus fragrance. In the words of Beyoncé, when she was in Dream Girls, "it's sophisticated looking."
3-5 Hours:
I noticed this is another perfume that moves with you. I mentioned before in other blog posts that sometimes a fragrance is just fragrant no matter what; others go dormant when you're still, and open back up when you move around. I will say this one is a mixture of both. It's pretty strong on its own, but its power goes up when you move around.
I didn't do too much moving around, just going up and down the steps and shifting on the couch, but when just chilling and not moving around, the fragrance kind of mellows just a little.
6-8 Hours:
By the end of the night, the fragrance finishes with a light, sweet, and citrusy scent. The citrus stands out more towards the end of the day, but it's nothing too over the top.
Overall, it is a long-lasting fragrance; it lasts through a workday, a wedding, a seminar, etc.
Final Thoughts:
This is a very bougie girl fragrance. You smell like a million bucks in the middle of spring and summer. You're a woman of stature. A woman with lots of money. A woman with class. Even if you have none of those things, this fragrance gives you that vibe. Money may not buy class, but it buys you class in a yellow glass bottle.
In comparison to Kayali's Capri in a Bottle: Lemon Sugar, Hard to Get is the big sister to Capri. If you want something a little sweeter, more playful, and fun, you should go for Kayali. Kayali gives you lemon drop vibes as well, but it's more like drinking a lemon drop on the beach in a thong bikini, whereas Hard to Get is a lemon drop at a bougie restaurant or social event. Both have their own vibe. If you want something more elevated and want to experience more of the citrus notes, then go for Hard To Get.
Thank you all so much for reading. I will see you in my next blog post. I've created a fragrance holiday wishlist. There's no obligation, but if you are feeling generous this holiday season, I appreciate any gift. It helps to keep the blog alive.
Thank you ❤️
