Discovery sets are always a great way to dip your toes into the perfume world. You get an assortment of fragrances, either from that brand specifically or an accumulation of popular fragrances in a box. These are great for anyone who wants to try and sample fragrances on their own, for experimenting with layering, and also if you want something cost-effective. They are also good gifts to buy someone who is really into perfumes or just starting out.

Today, we are going to be talking about Forvr Mood's discovery set (this is an affiliate link; I do make a commission if you purchase at no cost to you)  and describing how each fragrance feels and settles into my nose and skin. Now, I will be honest when it comes to Forvr Mood, I wasn't for it at first. My anosmia was still pretty strong when the brand released. And the reviews on social media, mainly Twitter, were throwing me towards the "nah I'll sit this out" section. Also, not the biggest fan of the lettering on the full-size bottles, but the bottles themselves are cute. Inside Forvr Mood's Discovery Set, you'll find sample-size vials (1.5 mL) of all 5 of the Forvr Mood Fragrances. There's I am Her, Hard to Get, You Remind Me, NDA, and She Was Here. If you are familiar with my blog or me personally, and you've read each fragrance's notes above, then you should be able to guess what my favorites are lol! First Fragrance: I am Her

Rate: 3/10 | Notes: Red Velvet, Pear, Oud

Right away, the fragrance smells sweet like a fruit, but there's a catch. A quick change in the fragrance happens. There's a bit of a bite to the fragrance now. Not sure how to describe it in the best way. All I can think of when it comes to describing it would be: think of biting into a fruit that's sweet at first, but then goes a little sharp and tart at the end. I am not a fan of fruity fragrances as is, so this one I will pass on buying. Second Fragrance: Hard to Get

Rate: 30/10 | Notes: Citron Zest, Sheer Jasmine, Whipped Vanilla

Jackie Aina, if you are reading this, can you send me 5 bottles of this please 😭! Y'all this one is too good! Too freaking good. Now I typically don't like citrus fragrances, but this one is so dreamy. I couldn't stop smelling my arm. This will 100% be in rotation for spring and summer fragrances.

Now, getting into the actual fragrance. It's not too citrusy for my nose. For me, it leans heavily on the vanilla side, and the jasmine is present in the fragrance. The jasmine notes create a warm feeling to the fragrance, which helps balance the citron and vanilla in my opinion. Adding in, I just love vanilla fragrances in general. The best way I can describe this perfume is by having you picture that it's a warm spring day, and you're hanging out your freshly washed white linen sheets on the clothes line to finish drying. You washed your linens with vanilla-scented booster beads and slightly dried your sheets using a scented citrus dryer sheet. The warm spring air has a breeze to it, so as the wind blows to dry your sheets, the vanilla citrus scent fills the outside air. There's a light, airy atmosphere being created.

This fragrance makes a statement. Definitely plays well into its name. When you put this on, not only will you be irresistible, but approaching you will be hard, because you just smell too damn good to be true.

Third Fragrance: You Remind Me

Rate: 2/10 | Notes: Apricot Skin, Orange Blossom

Sooooo..... As I stated, I am not a citrus girly, and this has orange blossom in it. I've tried other fragrances and body products that have orange blossom in it, and it's a huge no for me. Now, I will say there's a powdery accord to this fragrance, which I did like. It's only that one accord that I liked in this fragrance. Everything else together, I just couldn't get behind. I can't give a detailed description because I just didn't like it enough to think deeper. Sorry guys.

Fourth Fragrance: NDA

Rate: 10/10 | Notes: Spiced Rum, Tonka Bean, Tobacco Flower Jackie and Denis, I need 3 bottles, please! This is for us ladies who are into the grown and sexy fragrances. Immediate swipe of the card for this. With NDA, you are literally a walking Non Disclosure Agreement! Like mfs cannot and will not be able to speak on your name because you just smell too damn good! NDA has a sexy and spicy sharpness to it. Imagine the person in the room who is dressed the best, has RBF, and will tell you about yourself if you step out of line. Very "She's that girl" "I'm her!" energy. Confidence and sexiness in a bottle. Of course, there's amber accords in this fragrance which I love and they stood out to me the most! This would be a good fragrance to wear with a little black dress for date night, to college homecoming, your ex's funeral. It's that kind of fragrance. However, if you and I are the same, this is just a regular Tuesday fragrance.

Fifth Fragrance: She Was Here Rate: 1/10 | Notes: Roasted Pistachio, Turkish Rose, Vanilla Milk

I'm going to make a lot of people mad about this one because she gets a lot of love on social media buuuuut....She shouldn't have been invited on her own. She needs a plus one, a supportive friend to make sure she gets to and from safely. I did not like this on its own. On its own, it smelled like pickles to me, the same way Thank U Next smells like pickles to me. Now I love me a good pickle. A regular pickle, a fried pickle, pickle chips, pickle flavor Flamin' Hot Cheetos; but I DO NOT want to smell like it. I will say this is a fragrance that will be great as a layering companion since there are prominent accords like rose, vanilla, amber, woody, etc. If you want to layer by specific notes, there's pistachio, amber, vanilla milk, etc to layer with. Overall, this will go great as a second or third layer to a fragrance combination if you're into layering. If not, you might as well just name yourself Dylan Pickles from Rugrats.

Final thoughts:

Forvr Mood's discovery set is a great set to get for yourself or give as a gift to someone to play and discover new fragrances! Each fragrance is very different and has its own vibe and mood, so there's no "they all smell the same to me" vibe. There's definitely something in here for everyone. You may not like every fragrance, but you'll definitely find a fragrance or two that you would want to purchase a full-size amount of. Instagram Content I created for Forvr Mood: https://www.instagram.com/p/DPy5jRMkawi/ Thank you all so much for reading. I will see you in my next blog post.
